Olamim Family School

an INtergenerational Shabbat Learning program weaving Latin & Jewish Cultures

Who: Families with children ages 4-8 with ties to Latin and Jewish peoplehood. Extended family always welcome!

When: Eight Saturdays from August 2024 to April 2025, 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. (Kiddush included)

8/17, 9/28, 11/16, 12/14, 1/25, 2/15, 3/22, 4/19

Where: Bay Area locations (based on interest).

Languages: Bilingual (Spanish/English), and exposure to Hebrew vocabulary.

Learning arc

Olamim Family School is a play-based educational program that blends nature connection, cultural expression, and community-building. Sessions will include joint learning, but will also feature parallel learning for adults and children. We will spend the program year focused on:

  • Fall 2024: Wonder and Holiness (Kedusha / Sagrado)

  • Winter 2024 - 25: Heritage and Identity (L dor v’ dor / De generaci​​ón en generación)

  • Spring 2025: Respect for the Earth (Shomrei Adamah / Guardianes de la Tierra)

Cost

  • $950 for a family of 3.

  • $1,200 for a family of 4 or more.

  • Abuelitos/as and tios/tias are always welcome at no additional cost.

Get a discount! Family leadership is a key part of the intercultural Olamim experience! Families who choose to co-lead or host one of our eight program sessions will receive a $150 discount.

We strive to make our programs accessible to all interested families. Please ask about aid should you need additional support to participate.
